Competition participation and selection

Development first

• Training is about every child improving. Membership pays for coaching, not for selection.
• Fun Foundations (ages 4–6): play, development activities and, where permitted, festivals or fun events. No leagues, results tables or competitive matches.
• Older groups: development games first. Leagues and a TFA tournament are planned only for eligible older age groups, checked with the County FA and adapted by age.

Selection for planned fixtures and events

• Coaches rotate players so that every child gets fair playing time over a season.
• Selection decisions are explained to the child in an age-appropriate way, and to parents on request.

No guarantees

Joining TFA doesn’t guarantee selection for any team, trial, scholarship or professional pathway. TFA does not represent players or take any share of a player’s future earnings.
